Synopsis
This series of three Wonder Woman artworks have been painted over a series I created a few years ago. When they found a tumor in my abdomen and were investigating with PET scans and biopsies (yes, more than one). I was scared. I was worried my son would grow up without a Mum. I felt out-of-control. This series of artworks sat in the corner of my studio for a few years. I felt sick every time I looked at them. So I took back control and painted the most powerful woman I could think of (other than Beyonce). Wonder Woman. She is constantly faced with difficult, earth-shattering drama all the time and she wins every time. So I think I’ll be more like Wonder Woman than the scared woman I originally painted. I’d rather kick-butt.
PS. I’m fine. The tumor is benign. I didn’t kick the tumors butt, but I did scare it into a frozen submission.
